Reinforcing Steel

Specialty description

From the designs prepared by the engineering designer, RRG must first proceed with the detailed evaluation of the reinforcing steel quantities, in order to establish the amount of the quote for each project.

It is also possible to order specific quantities of steel directly from our team.

The workshop designs (manufacturing designs) are then conceived and given to the manufacturing plant, via computerized barlist and tagging system. The cutting, bending and delivery planning is done within the manufacturing plant.

The work at the site consists of installing the steel bars, according to the installation plans prepared by RRG and approved by the engineer. This element of our activities is crucial to the complete satisfaction of our clientele, this is why RRG considers the experience, competence and professionalism of its installation team very important, its reputation has been aptly established since its inception.

RRG provides two types deformed bars (reinforcing steel bars):

- type R (regular)
- W (weld able)

The two types of bars distinguish themselves by their respective chemical composition. The treated bars can be up to 18 meters long or coiled (for 10M and 15M).

RRG also provides reinforcing steel bars coated to ensure the best possible protection against corrosion. We provide bars covered with an epoxy coating (ASTM A775 standard) or hot dip galvanized (ACNOR G164 standard).

The type R bars are for general use and the type W bars for constructions where welding, flexion or ductility constitutes an essential criteria.

The standard indicates three minimal elasticity limits being: 300, 400 and 500 MPa designed respectively by the 300R, 400R, 400W, 500R and 500W nuances. All these nuances are available upon request at RRG. However, the usual practice is to keep mainly steels of 400R and 400W types in stock.

Post-Tensioning

Specialty description
Post-tensioning is a method by which a structural element is reinforced by using highly resistant materials such as post-tensioning cables or bars. Post-tensioning consists in applying a compression force upon the concrete by enabling it to actively counterbalance the effective forces of the structural element (notably the traction resistance). Our young and dynamic teams have all the resources (equipment and know-how) to realize all types of projects, from the smallest to the largest and even the most complex.

Products
